Taylor Russell

Taylor Russell McKenzie was born on the 18th of July 1994 in Vancouver, British Columbia, and was raised in Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal. Russell was the daughter of a mother of white and black parents. She was raised on her mother's side. Russell recalled how as a child she was viewed as unwelcome by her peers because of the shade of her skin. [3] Her parents were struggling financially and had to relocate 16 times to pursue her father's job. Despite all this, Russell mentioned how in her early days "there always was a chance for innovation, to design something new."As a child, Russell was already artistically inclined, at first, she wanted to pursue a career in ballet. She later wanted to become an artist. At the age of 18, she started her first class in acting. She saved money from work to buy a car and drove to Los Angeles to audition. After her money ran out she would work until she had enough income to audition again. This continued for four years until she was finally offered her first major television role.
